MADNESS!!!

Bish Bash Bosh. Bashy Did it Again

Ashley 'Bashy' Thomas has done it again. After the success of the title theme 'Kiduulthood to Adulthood' and then his album Catch Me If You Can, he has come with his new tune for the movie shank.

"When the Sky Falls" is the theme for UK movie Shank, a film about gangs and street culture in the suburbs of London.

Getting onto the song, its a fast paced tune with typical Bashy lyrics. Clever wordplay, lyrics which people can relate to and a delivering technique which possesses too much energy (in a good way)

The chorus is sung beautifully by Loick Essien, sending shivers down ones spine. Not to mention the music video, the garms are nang and there are cameo performances by Tempz, JME, Giggs and Griminal.

This tune is not exactly a club banger but is still full of emotion which could send a grown man into tears.

Once again, Bashy has done his thing.

Wiley - The Eskibeat Instrumentals 1

I don't care, all of Wiley's beats are swag and these are just a collection during his years in grime. He came from jungle and is now in the electro scene but this CDs highlights Wiley's quality and skill as possibly the finest UK musician.

The man has help nurture the likes of Dizzee Rascal, Tinchy Stryder and most recently Ice Kid. These beats were the first of its kind. Playing on Rinse airwaves and on all of the first mixtapes, not to mention the Eskimo dances these beats truly illustrate the power and influence Eskiboy has on the grime scene. No wonder they call him the Godfather of Grime.

Available at UK Recordshop

Skepta - Red Bull Academy

It is one of the biggest, no wait, the biggest instrumental of 2010 and it comes courtesy of DJ turned MC and Producer Skepta. The song features as a bonus on his new mixtape entitled Been There Done That. The mixtape is already out so I can't be bothered to do a review.

The tune incorporates a variety of instruments and goes back to the 2005 vibe, not exactly eski but grimey if you know what I mean. I heard Tim Westwood loves playing this and used it when BBK came down to his studio to do a P.A

I don't know how long this link is gonna be here, the User keeps getting shut down lol.

I bought the Black and Purple ones today for £35 from Jack Jones. Normally I don't even step a foot into that shop simply because the jeans are not of my taste. (River Island and Topman for me - better fit).

I went shopping with my sister and as I was looking for a sweatshirt, there was no harm going into Jack Jones. Suddenly from the corner of my eye, i saw these beauties and I picked them up without a second thought.

FFS!!! Give Rinse FM a licence

Whoever is in control of radio licensing, why don't you just go ahead and give Rinse one. Whilst writing this blog, I am actually listening to the sweet sounds of Rinse, DJ Karnage to be precise. Point being, if after 15 years of trying to shut down a pirate radio which is on the internet and therefore worldwide, why dont you give up.

Rinse have been going strong for 15 years and with such talent and music diversity everyday and night, the fanbase has grown and grown and grown. Now with Uk's finest urban musicians only being limited to 1 slot a week on the biggest underground stage, Rinse should be recognised as a legit radio station.

The Rinse story started with 16 yr old DJ Geeneus and Slimzee who braced us with the finest underground music from their then and even now unknown studio in the heart of East london. The likes of Pay As U Go, Dizzee, Wiley, Tinchy Stryder, Roll Deep, Newham Generals, MC Stamina and Heartless Crew soon came through and used Rinse as their playground where they could experiment with their fans texting and MSN'ing their thoughts right back. Today, Geeneus and Slimzee are often shouted out by those on Rinse.

Rinse FM have applied for a licence in the past only to be rejected. Despite this, Rinse kept doing what Rinse do best, bring the freshest beat. But Rinse have had their fair share of problems. In 2003 DJ Slimzee was caught putting up broadcasting equipment illegally and was banned from evey rooftop in the borough. On top of this, GRIME was banned on the station yet this problem was soon dealt with.

Nowadays, Rinse plays the fiest house music with its roster boasting the finest upcoming and veteran DJ's such as Youngsta, Funk Butcher, Plastician, Silencer, Oneman, Alexander Nut, N-type, Spyro and Vectra. There are too many to name.

Rinse also has a bunch of CD's compiled and mixed by their DJ's. None of them dissapoint. As well as this, Rinse regularly host parties with FWD at MATTER or at BLOC. These sell out every single time and is an experience in itself.

I don't know what Rinse need to do to get legalised but it doesn't matter because at the end of the day they will get their licence one way or another. Hold tight the Rinse massive. Sign the petition and support RInse at www.rinse.fm

Nike Prestige - Generation II

When I saw these, I thought they were those dunks just being re-advertised but when I looked again I realised they were a masterpiece.

These are a new and improved version of the current prestige collection which everyone (that I see) seem to be wearing. NIKE have got with the times and turned the shoe into a hightop/dunk with the originality of the airforce 1. Bold colours stand out and back to school designing and to the simplicity yet innovative design.

Unfortunatley you can not get these in NikeID yet but at £69.99 these are a perfect shoes for raves, house parties or even just going out. The red is made from leather whilst the blue is made from fabric.

Both are available in a variety of colours exclusively from Foot Locker. I think I'm gonna get some myself.

Adidas gone back to school?

*BTW YOU CANT ZOOM IN LOL*

Its called the GEOMETRIC unit!

Hold tight Size? who have this in abundance. The jumpers are dope with a simple triangle design and nang colours. The jumpers have a slim fit which make the look even better. Adidas have made a jumper which appeals to a huge amount of people. These jumpers are made from the finest material and will set you back £65

These shirts are perfect to wear inside the jumpers. Wearing this combo will make anyone look swag. These are £45 from size? which is also worth it. Both have the Adidas logo stitched on the pocket.

These are limited edition Adidas originals so I would suggest getting these before stockists run out. Seriously these ain't gonna go on sale. I like the old school vibe and this a must buy.

THE A-LIST

WILEY

J2K

WRIGLEY

BRAZEN

SADIE AMA

SHOLA AMA

MZ BRATTZ

KIVANC

BLESS BEATS

DJ JJ

Do I need to say anymore? Really do I? This is probably the most swag line up today in urban music.

According to a Wiley interview by Ragggs.com, the crew have about 20 songs recorded. I've heard MIDNIGHT LOVER, OOH AAH, MAKE MY OWN and LOST IN SPACE and none of them disappoint. These lot have to much skill not to break into the mainstream and to be honest, I'd be quite happy listening to this on the radio.

The sound is not grimey but more UK hip hop which at the end of the day will attract a larger audience. Wiley has really taken to the electro-grime crossover and in OOH AAH, this is quite clear and on top of this, some of the radio sets I've heard, the DJs are playing tunes by Wiley which has auto tune. In my opinion, if you can use auto tune well, you might as well use it. That's what the A-list crew have done.

There's no doubt that the work will be put in. To be perfectly honest, these lot are gonna make a stupid amount of money in the future and probably the ambassadors for UK urban music alongside BBK, OG'Z, CRAZY COUSINZ, SKREAM and dare i say it TINCHY STRYDER :P

Expect more from this bunch!

SCRATCHY D - He's Back

Yeah Yeah Yeah, we all knew him as the white guy of roll deep. The dude who did the warrior charge. Well years later(today)scratchy is back attempting to break into the mainstream with his new single entitled girls

With a haircut and a serious video done thanks to the one and only Digital Dan, you can tell Scratchy has decided to this seriously. After all its been nearly 10 years since Roll Deep started.

The song itself is Scratchy talking about the problems Girls give him. He realises that clever wordplay and his infamous spellings wont gain him much support and instead keeps the lyrics simple.

Despite the fact he looks well out of his comfort zone, the catchy chorus has me backing Scratchy all the way. Im sure with a couple more attempts he'll be banging out hits.
